This will be an experience

like no other - with a small group of

values-aligned health professionals.

Capped at 10 participants.

(4 people minimum required to run this program)

What you will gain

NOTE - EVEN if you are not actively pursuing nature based programming, the process we follow and the experiences you will have with nature will 100% support your ability to clarify, create and connect with YOUR ideas for your OT work. I am an 'out of the box' OT thinker and there is NOTHING better that taking time out to think, create, brain storm with other OTs.

  • Confidence as we explore the evidence for the health and wellbeing benefits of nature contact and connection - the generic evidence and then really focus on evidence for YOUR client group. I will help you find the evidence you need!
  • Knowledge about the key nature theories for the pathways of change - HOW nature contributes to the outcomes we see. You'll be able to explain this from an evidence based perspective, and use the theory to build a solid nature based intervention/program
  • Reconnection and remembering of the core of occupational therapy. How and why nature is SO aligned with holistic occupational therapy. How our scope of practice is SO broad with many possibilities for ways of working. Fall in LOVE with OT again.
  • A solid methodology to create your nature based way of working - whether it's about weaving more nature into your current job or role, or creating something new. Informed by project management and program logic methodologies - simplified for a quick result.
  • A new way of talking about nature. New language, embracing reciprocity and partnership with nature as our co-therapist.
  • Indigenous perspectives from Ivan-Tiwu Copley OAM (former South Australian of the Year), a Peramangk-Kuarna elder about connection with Country as a key part of identity, health and wellbeing.
  • A plan, confidence and inspiration. The intent is that you will leave with a clear plan on next steps and actions to intentionally include nature in your professional work.
  • Peace, stillness, rest - actually stopping :) It will be so worth it. We will sit around a fire, as humans have gathered forever for connection.
  • Nurture we LOVE to care for you at The Sanctuary. We'll create a safe, comfy, relaxed gathering where there will be time for connection and ample time for solitude and reflection.
  • Nourish we are serious about food at The Sanctuary. We grow, harvest and process food. We choose to eat simply with minimal processing. We'll be sharing a delicious menu of home grown and home created food and drink.
  • The Sanctuary is a smoking and alcohol free venue.

And, of course…
🦘 The NATURE — a private national park sanctuary with bushland, river, orchard, and deep peace. Time here isn’t just about ideas. It’s about feeling what nature does to your own nervous system, and how that might ripple into your work.

*The exact content is subject to change and will be determined in consultation with attendees prior to the event. This ensures that the content is what most suits your needs.

Who is this for?

The cOnnecT with Nature Retreat is a standalone, immersive experience for occupational therapists who are ready to pause, connect and explore what is truly possible to include more nature in our work – starting small, or going ‘all-in’.

It’s for you if:

  • You’re curious about more authentic, aligned ways of working — especially if you are keen to include more nature in your practice but you’re not sure where or how to get started.
  • You want to explore what your own business offers for nature based occupational therapy could look like – in work you’re currently doing, or something new.
  • You know nature is ‘good’ but something’s holding you back from fully embracing it in your practice — maybe uncertainty, lack of clarity, or not knowing what’s ‘allowed’ in your role.
  • You want to explore nature-based OT grounded in solid evidence and theory, not just trend or intuition.
  • Perhaps you’re not interested in starting a business — you just want to explore what’s possible in your current role, and how to align nature-based practice with your clients’ goals, funding systems, and context.
  • You’re craving your own connection with nature — time to rest, think, reflect, and plan, without trying to add it on around your everyday life.
  • You’d value four days of open access to Bronwyn’s insight — ask anything about language, theory, outcome measures, program design, evaluation, or next steps. Nothing is off-limits.

You don’t need to be part of the cOnnecT with Nature Coaching Program to join — but if you decide you want ongoing support after the retreat, you’ll have the option to step in at a reduced rate.

We are proudly inclusive — LGBTIQ+ and culturally welcoming — and always learning how to do better.

The accessibility of The Sanctuary is limited for people with mobility limitations. As an occupational therapist I am committed to improving that, but it requires a longer term program and funding and we are not 'there' yet. If you want to chat about the ability for you to participate and feel comfortable here I am ALWAYS happy to do that.

We are proud that The Sanctuary is fully off-grid for power and water, fitting with our ethos of living lightly on this planet.  Our facilities reflect this and include the cleanest long drop toilet you've ever seen, and a hired porta-loo.

We also have the most AMAZING outdoor hot water shower. If you haven't experienced standing in steaming hot water under a sky full of stars, or in morning sunshine then you are in for a treat. Sometimes there are possums watching!

If you would like to discuss any access requirements, physical or otherwise, please contact me at [email protected]
